ABOUT US
ELGbtq+ aims to create a safe, welcoming environment where all LGBTQIA+ folks and allies in the Elgin area can come together, celebrate and learn from each other, and create unity within the community.
Our mission is to create family-friendly, accessible events everyone can attend, while prioritizing queer voices in and around the Elgin, IL area.
We were very excited to make history by bringing the first LGBTQ+ Pride Parade and Festival to Elgin, Illinois in June of 2023, which saw over 4,000 attendees.

Ongoing Events
In addition to planning Elgin's Pride Parade and festival held the first Saturday in June, ELGbtq+ hosts year-round, accessible, family-friendly events:
Chat and Caff
Meet at a local coffee shop and make friends! Typically the first Saturday of each month.
Game Night
Meet at an Elgin game store and play board games and card games! Typically the fourth Thursday of each month.
Book Club
Discuss a wide selection of queer literature. Generally monthly on Sundays.
Queer Mountaineers
Rainbow Writers
An affirming space to work on and share your writing. Schedule varies.
